What is FR44 insurance in Florida?
An FR44 is not the insurance policy. It is a certificate of financial responsibility that your insurance company files electronically with the Florida DHSMV. And it proves you carry 100/300/50 liability after a DUI.
We've talked to a lot of people who spent days quoting SR22 because that is the word every national site uses. Florida DUI is not an SR22 situation. The DHSMV wants the FR44, and an SR22 will not reinstate you.
So the policy is what you buy. The FR44 is the filing that tells the state you have it. We shop 15+ carriers, then we file electronically the same day you purchase. Filing same day is not the same thing as your license printing same day. DHSMV confirmation can lag.
