Non-owner

I sometimes drive my spouse's car. Can I still get non-owner FR44?

Maybe. And getting this wrong is worse than paying a little more for the right policy, because a denied claim helps nobody.

If your name is on the title or the registration, you typically need an owner FR44. If the car is solely in your spouse's name and you are not the regular driver, some carriers will still write non-owner. Some will not. We've talked to people who bought non-owner while living in a house with two cars, then found out that carrier treats household access as ownership.

So we do not guess from a forum post. We ask who is on the title, who drives it daily, and which carrier will actually file the FR44 for that setup. Then we shop 15+ carriers and file electronically the same day you purchase.

Still need an answer for your own case?

Every FR44 situation has details a page can't cover. Tell us yours and we'll shop it across our carriers and file the same day you buy.
