Non-owner

I bought a used car while on non-owner FR44 in Florida. How do I register it without blowing the non-owner policy?

Once the title is in your name, non-owner FR44 is the wrong product. You need owner coverage that still meets 100/300/50, and the FR44 has to stay on file with no gap.

We've talked to people who tried to register the car on the old non-owner policy to save a few weeks. That is how you get a claim denied and a DHSMV problem in the same month. Convert first, then register.

So we rewrite you to an owner FR44, file electronically the same day you purchase, and only then do you take the insurance to the tag office. Filing same day is not a promise the DHSMV screen has already caught up that afternoon.

Cost will change because there is now a vehicle to insure. We shop 15+ carriers. We do not invent a monthly premium.

Still need an answer for your own case?

Every FR44 situation has details a page can't cover. Tell us yours and we'll shop it across our carriers and file the same day you buy.
