Where do I find my Florida DUI or traffic case number?

There are two different numbers people mean by this, and it is worth knowing which one you need.

Your court case number is on the paperwork you were given. It is printed on the citation the officer handed you, on any notice to appear, and on anything you have received from the clerk of court in the county where you were arrested. If you no longer have the paperwork, the clerk of court for that county can look it up by your name and date of birth. Most Florida counties let you search their public case records online.

Your FR case number is a different thing. That is the nine-digit number the DHSMV attaches to the financial responsibility suspension itself, and it begins with a 4. You will see it on your driver record when you pull it, and that leading 4 is how you know you are looking at the FR44 case rather than something else on your record.

For quoting and filing your FR44, we do not need the court case number. We need your license number, your date of birth, and the vehicle information if you own one. The case number matters mostly when you are checking whether a suspension has actually cleared.
