Carriers

My insurer is dropping me after a Florida DUI. Who writes FR44?

A preferred carrier dropping you after a Florida DUI is common. State Farm is not required to keep writing the risk, and a lot of standard companies will not touch a new FR44.

We've talked to households who called ten numbers and heard no, then found a market that would actually file 100/300/50. Cost still varies by record, zip, and whether you need owner or non-owner coverage. Anyone quoting one monthly number without your driving record is guessing.

We do not issue a hardship license. That is DHSMV. What we do is shop 15+ carriers for a policy that meets the FR44, then file electronically the same day you purchase. Filing same day is not a promise the plastic license is already printed.

If a vehicle is in your name, plan on owner coverage. If it is not, ask about non-owner before you overbuy.

Still need an answer for your own case?

Every FR44 situation has details a page can't cover. Tell us yours and we'll shop it across our carriers and file the same day you buy.
