DUI

If my Florida DUI is dismissed, do I still need to carry FR44, and how do I get it removed?

A court dismissal and the DHSMV record are not always the same thing.

We've talked to people whose criminal case went away and the FR44 requirement was still sitting on the driving record. Florida can take an administrative action on the license that does not move just because the prosecutor dropped the charge. The only record that matters for the filing is what FLHSMV shows.

If the requirement is still open, you keep 100/300/50 in force and we keep the FR44 filed. If the DHSMV has actually cleared it, we can look at dropping the certificate and re-shopping regular coverage. Guessing from a court paper is how people lapse.

We shop 15+ carriers and file electronically the same day you purchase when the FR44 is still required. Bring the DHSMV printout if you have it.
