No. You should not be mailing an FR44 to Tallahassee if you are working with a carrier that files electronically.

The certificate goes from the insurance company into the DHSMV system. That is the path we use, and we do it the same day you purchase in most cases. Paper filings are how people lose a week. We've talked to drivers who were handed a form and told to drop it at an office, then waited while nothing posted.

You may still visit a DHSMV office later for reinstatement fees or a replacement license. That is separate from the filing itself. Filing same day is not the same thing as walking out with a printed license that afternoon. Their confirmation can lag.
