After my FR44 ends, can I go back to regular insurance?
Yes, once the FR44 requirement is actually finished. Then you can shop auto insurance that does not need that certificate sitting on the policy.
Do not guess the end date. Count from reinstatement, keep coverage continuous, and let us look at the DHSMV record before anyone cancels. We've talked to people who switched to a cheap standard policy a month early and the state treated it like a lapse.
When it is truly over, we re-shop 15+ carriers. Your DUI will still affect pricing for a while. Regular insurance is not automatically cheap. We just stop filing FR44 because the state is no longer asking for it.
