Did Florida change the FR44 cancellation rules?
Yes. Florida used to lock FR44 policies into a term that was hard to leave. That changed in 2023. The site version we work from is month to month now, which cuts both ways.
You can switch if we find a lower rate. Your carrier can also drop you. One late payment can put a cancellation in motion, and the DHSMV still wants a continuous FR44. We've talked to people who treated the new flexibility like a grace period. It is not.
So the work is the same. Keep coverage in force. If you want to move carriers, we bind the new policy, file electronically, then cancel the old one. No gap.
We shop 15+ carriers and we tell you the real price, including whatever filing fee that carrier sets.
